What loop is
A student opens loop, says they are stuck on maths, and within seconds a registered New Zealand teacher who is free right now joins them on video. Twenty minutes, one to one, on the problem in front of them. Afterwards the parent gets a written report on what happened.
There is no booking, no timetable and no term commitment. You use it on the nights you need it.
What we believe
Help is worth most at the moment of being stuck
A question answered on Tuesday night is worth more than the same question answered at Thursday’s lesson, by which time the homework is handed in and the moment has gone. Everything about loop follows from that — no booking, no calendar, no waiting.
Who teaches matters more than what the software does
Every tutor on loop is registered with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand and holds a current practising certificate. We check the number against the public register by hand, and we keep checking — a certificate that lapses stops that tutor receiving students the same day.
A parent should be able to see what happened
Every lesson is recorded and every lesson produces a written report. A person at loop reads each report before it reaches you. We are not willing to publish something about a child’s learning unread.
Twenty minutes, honestly priced
One price, known before you start, charged after the lesson rather than before it. No subscription to forget about and no minimum to meet.
What loop is not
- Not a marketplace of strangers. We choose who teaches, and we check them.
- Not a subscription, and not a term commitment.
- Not a replacement for school. It is the twenty minutes that unblocks tonight’s homework.
- Not a machine marking your child. The reports are written with the help of an AI model and read by a person before you see them, and no decision about a tutor is made by software.
Who we are
